Working on the bank means you are not contracted to a set number of hours per week but instead work on an ad-hoc basis to suit the needs of the business and your availability.

At Nuffield Health, the UK's largest healthcare charity, everything we give our patients, members, and customers would not be possible without you. Your passion, warmth, and drive to make a difference are valued. Whether it’s driving connected health, helping the nation, transforming experiences, or building your career – we support you to do it all. Join our journey. It starts with you.

Our CQC Outstanding hospital in Cambridge is seeking an Oncology Dietitian to join their clinical team at the Nuffield Health hospital.

You will deliver high-quality Dietitian services to our Oncology patients through clinical assessment and the planning, implementation, and evaluation of treatment.

We are a well-established Oncology team passionate about clinical excellence, teaching, training, and End of Life Care (EOLC). We’ve earned the Macmillan Quality Environment Mark (MQEM), and in October 2016, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) rated clinical service provision at The Nuffield Hospital Cambridge as ‘outstanding’.

As an Oncology Dietitian, your responsibilities will include:

  • Selecting appropriate assessment approaches, methods, techniques, and equipment, aligned with individual needs, evidence of effectiveness, and available resources.
  • Explaining clearly to patients their roles, responsibilities, and the information needed from assessments, respecting dignity, wishes, and beliefs; involving shared decision-making; and obtaining consent.
  • Preparing, conducting, and monitoring assessments in line with evidence-based practice, legislation, policies, procedures, and established protocols or models.
  • Monitoring individuals during assessments and taking appropriate actions regarding significant changes or risks.
  • Maintaining accurate clinical records.
  • Evaluating information to plan assessments, determine activities, manage risks, and prioritize urgency.
  • Interpreting assessment findings and taking appropriate actions when issues arise.
  • Using systematic reasoning to reach justifiable assessments and explaining outcomes.
  • Recording diagnoses and treatment plans according to professional guidelines.
  • Identifying individuals with needs outside protocols and making timely referrals to appropriate practitioners.
  • Staying updated on current developments, theories, and research.
  • Ensuring equipment is in good working order and escalating issues when necessary.
  • Providing input for policy and procedural improvements within the department.

The Person

  • Registered practitioner with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Helping you feel good.
