Job description

The post holder is part of the nursing team in the Neonatal Unit, working closely with the Nurse in charge and multidisciplinary team members to maintain high standards of clinical practice and staff development.

  • The post-holder is responsible for the care of a group of babies within the Neonatal Unit without supervision.
  • Responsible for providing high-quality, evidence-based care at all levels in the NICU.
  • Act as a mentor/preceptor, teaching and supervising all team staff.
  • Monitor and guide junior staff, providing coaching and advice as appropriate.
  • Be flexible in clinical approach and provide cover within the Neonatal Unit as needed.
