Job summary

Rethink Mental Illness in Doncaster is seeking a Bank Mental Health Support Worker to join Doncaster Crisis House, a CQC registered service supporting people with severe and enduring mental health challenges.

The role involves one-to-one support, assessments, safety planning, promoting wellbeing, daily living skills, and liaison with mental health professionals. We welcome applicants with experience in social care and a compassionate, patient approach.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting people with mental illness in a social care setting.
• Excellent listening skills, empathy, patience and kindness.
• Ability to work with digital systems (MS Office, email, internet).
• Commitment to our values and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Providing one-to-one key-worker support and building positive, professional relationships.
• Carrying out assessments and developing personalised support and safety plans.
• Encouraging people to manage their mental and physical wellbeing.
• Supporting individuals with daily living skills and accessing community services.
• Liaising with mental health agencies, professionals and community groups.
• Contributing to safeguarding and promoting a safe, supportive environment.
• Keeping accurate records, monitoring progress and sharing information with the team.
• Helping improve the service by offering feedback and supporting colleagues.
