Job description

Bank Mental Health Nurse (RMN) - HMP Bristol

The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate the ability to work in a challenging and multi-agency environment, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team consisting of nursing and medical staff and a range of allied health professionals such as dentistry, optometry, physiotherapy, and podiatry.

Responsibilities include monitoring and auditing the quality and effectiveness of all aspects of service delivery, maintaining an effective case management service to ensure care and continuity of treatment throughout an offender's care pathway while detained in prison and admitted to the IPU.

The role involves liaising with others to share expertise, promote ideas, and work collaboratively with key stakeholders, agencies, and organizations as required. (A full Job Description can be downloaded in the supporting documents section.)

Important Information, Please Read:
  • All applicants must be willing to undertake National Security Vetting to work in a Prison Setting. This will be completed as part of pre-employment checks through Oxleas and the prison vetting team.
  • Applicants need to provide proof of right to work documentation, proof of ID (including one photographic ID), proof of address, and, if applicable, additional documentation for non-UK passport holders such as a Home Office Share code, police certificates, or overseas police checks.
  • Five years of address history will be required. Applicants not holding a UK passport and providing less than five years of UK address history will need to provide a police certificate in English from previous residencies.
  • UK passport holders who have lived abroad for more than six months in the last three years will need to provide a certificate of good conduct or an overseas police check in English from those countries.
