Main duties of the job

As a Bank Mental Health Nurse, you will increase your skill set by working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver all aspects of patient care.

Your main duties will include:

• Delivering care to people with mental health issues who are receiving inpatient care in an acute physical health setting.
• Supporting all clinical areas of the Trust as required.
• Ensuring that Trust and local policies and procedures are followed.
• Being responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
• Supervising and guiding other staff including health care assistants and students as required.

Successful applicants for this role will:

• Hold RN (Adult) Registration with current NMC license to practice.
• Have relevant experience within the last 18-24 months.
• Have a drive to work hard and commit to a four-day induction programme if successful.
• Have the right to work in the UK.

• Registered Mental Health Nurse with current live NMC registration.
• Evidence of a broad range of mental health nursing experience.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.
• Holds a teaching and assessing qualification (998 or equivalent).

Work Experience

• Candidate will have undertaken training for extended roles required by the ward/department.
• Candidate will have been working in an appropriate clinical setting.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Advanced communication skills, verbal & written, including report writing and record keeping.
• Basic computer/IT skills and expectation to develop these in line with the service needs.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with patients and multidisciplinary team.
