We have an exciting opportunity for a Bank Mental Health Nurseto join ourMental Healthteam at HMP & YOIHollesley Bay,acategory D Prison located inthe village of Hollesley, nearWoodbridgein Suffolk.

In this role you'll be working with a multi-disciplinary team that will support you and help you succeed.

Hours

The site currently offers a mix ofshift patterns.

Monday to Sunday:8.00 to 16.00or07:00 - 17:00.

Salary

Youll receive a bank hourly rate of £23.

Main duties of the job

As aBank Mental Health Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Carry out comprehensive assessments, initiating and reviewing care plans, and developing treatment options.
  • Undertake medication rounds, and assess and treat patients who may have undergone traumatic experiences and may be distressed.
  • Assess patients health needs using an evidence based framework and be able to risk assess use sound clinical knowledge.
  • Deliver non-judgemental care that makes a real difference.
  • You will monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects liaising with prescribers as required.
  • Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care, building strong multi-disciplinary teams and supporting each other to do a great job.

Requirements:

  • NMC Registered Mental Health Nurse
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
  • Experience of working with patients, face to face, who have complex mental health conditions
  • Experience of psychosocial interventions, group work and awareness of substance misuse

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.

Inspire excellence by forging strong links with our partners and stakeholders and providing a service that people can trust, feel safe within, and feel proud of.

Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence based care and continuous quality improvement, embedding a culture of shared learning.
