We have an exciting opportunity for a Bank Mental Health Nurse role at HMP Lewes to join our team. HMP Lewes is a category B male prison located near the centre of Lewes, a historic town just a 5-minute walk away.

Hours: Varying shift patterns, which can be 7 am - 7:30 pm (11.5-hour shift) or 8 am - 4 pm (7.5-hour shift).

Salary: Bank rate is £23.00 per hour.

Candidates are required to have the legal right to work in the UK, and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

Main duties of the job
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team carrying out assessments, care plans, and developing treatment options
  • Undertake medication rounds and assess/treat patients who may have experienced trauma and distress
  • Assess health needs using evidence-based frameworks and risk assessments
  • Provide advice, support, and manage a caseload of patients
  • Deliver non-judgemental care that makes a difference
  • Monitor therapeutic responses and liaise with prescribers regarding medication side effects
  • Forge strong links with partners and stakeholders to promote best practice
  • Share knowledge and skills within multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe care
