Job Description:
MDT Associate
Provide high-quality administrative and project support services to the organisation, focusing on facilitating and coordinating multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and managing effective patient pathways for cancer patients from diagnosis to treatment.
- Produce a list of patients for discussion and distribute it prior to meetings.
- Liaise with other organisations to obtain relevant clinical data, including imaging and pathology results.
- Ensure MDT decisions are recorded in patients’ medical records and outcomes are actioned.
- Establish, develop, and coordinate MDT meetings at the hospital.
- Record and monitor attendance at MDT meetings.
- Support audits and analysis of cancer data, ensuring compliance with national and local audits.
- Implement initiatives to improve data quality.
- Liaise with the Governance Team to ensure systems and processes are in place for MDT and data governance.
- Maintain and update MDT pathway documentation, including SOPs.
- Resolve day-to-day issues and escalate serious problems.
Communication
- Communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team.
- Administer and attend meetings, prepare documentation, and take minutes.
- Ensure timely transfer of information between involved organisations.
- Produce and present activity and progress reports.
- Provide feedback on patient care and departmental activities.
- Lead discussions on service improvement and quality control.
- Maintain professional boundaries with patients and colleagues.
Breast Secretary
The Breast Unit Secretary provides administrative support, manages patient records, and coordinates appointments within the Breast Unit, ensuring confidentiality and effective communication.
- Provide secretarial and administrative assistance.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
- Schedule appointments, surgeries, and procedures efficiently.
- Act as a point of contact for inquiries related to the Breast Unit.
- Facilitate communication among healthcare professionals, patients, and families.
- Manage patient data in electronic records and prepare reports.
- Transcribe medical dictation and maintain documentation.
- Assist patients with information and inquiries.
- Monitor office supplies and maintain equipment.
- Participate in team meetings and ensure workflow efficiency.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; healthcare administration education is a plus.
- Experience as a secretary or administrative assistant, preferably in healthcare.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and electronic medical records.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
