Overview

We are looking for a skilled Bank Maintenance Assistant with a passion for making a difference to others. Please note: This role is a cross-site role covering Cygnet Kenton and Ealing with potential to expand across other London sites. You will have the chance to pick up flexible shifts Monday - Friday (8am - 4pm or 9am - 5pm).

Cygnet Lodge Kenton, in North-West London, offers a flexible mental health rehabilitation pathway for women including High-Support Inpatient Rehabilitation (Level 2) and Community Rehabilitation (Level 1). This dual-level rehabilitation model ensures that women receive the support they need while developing independence at their own pace. Women placed with us often come from multiple placement breakdowns, failed treatment programmes or are stepping down from secure settings.

Main duties of the job

We can support up to 15 women who are ready to step down from short or longer term mental health services. We aim to equip the women in our care with the skills they need to live successfully in the community, therefore reducing the likelihood of requiring future inpatient admissions.

  • Provide a comprehensive maintenance & repair service
  • Carry out a range of tasks including basic joinery, plumbing, painting & general building work
  • Maintain plant, services & vehicles in working order
  • Comply with safe working practices & report faulty equipment & potential hazards
  • Travel to other sites & on occasions be on call to carry out emergency repairs outside of normal working hours
  • Check the fire alarm points weekly, including fire exits, door retaining devices & fire emergency lights

  • Experienced in all types of painting and decorating in both indoor and outdoor environments
  • Willing to travel & hold a full valid driving licence
  • Able to communicate at all levels & record detailed, accurate maintenance information
  • Skilled at DIY & general maintenance
  • Preferably Level 2 Diploma qualified in Painting & Decorating/Maintenance
  • Friendly, conscientious & an excellent team member with a positive attitude

Successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
