Job summary

Advinia Healthcare is seeking a Bank General Assistant to join the catering team at Woodfield Care Home in England. This bank role offers flexible shifts and a supportive kitchen environment.

You will assist with meal preparation, serving residents, staff and visitors, and help maintain hygiene and stock control. A catering qualification and COSHH/HACCP knowledge are desirable; good numeracy and literacy help you succeed.

Responsibilities

• Assist catering staff with preparation and cooking.
• Serve Residents, Staff and Visitors.

• Ensure all areas, equipment and furniture are cleaned and stored correctly.
• Meet operational hygiene standards and company policies.
• Liaise with the wider team.

As a Bank Catering Assistant you will be:

• Assisting catering staff with both the preparation and cooking of meals in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.
• Serving Residents, Staff and Visitors with food and beverages.
• Maintaining storage procedures and stock rotation.
• Ensuring that all areas, equipment and furniture are cleaned and stored correctly.
• As part of the catering team, ensuring the kitchen and associated areas meet operational hygiene standards and comply with the company’s policies and procedures.
• Liaising with the wider team.

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

• Relevant Catering Qualification (Desirable)
• Knowledge of COSHH and HACCP
• Experience of working within similar role.
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
