Bank Kitchen Assistant

We are looking for an outstanding Kitchen Assistant who's passionate about food and wants to make a difference.

You'll be working 8 hour bank shifts at Cygnet Fountains, creating an excellent experience for the people in our care.

Cygnet Fountains is a high dependency inpatient rehabilitation service for men who have severe and enduring mental illness and who may have been detained under the Mental Health Act. The individuals we support come to us following multiple placement breakdowns, failed treatment programmes or stepping down from secure settings and currently holds a CQC rating of 'Outstanding'.

Your day-to-day...

1. Prepare, cook & serve nutritional, balanced and appetising meals
2. Provide special diets, taking into account individual preferences & needs
3. Liaise with nursing colleagues to meet patients' nutritional & dietary needs
4. Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen, service areas & dining room
5. Ensure compliance with health & safety standards and Food Hygiene Regulations
6. Handle, maintain & store kitchen equipment in accordance with Cygnet procedures
7. Use chemicals in line with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations

You are...

1. A skilled cook who can work under pressure
2. Preferably experienced in the care sector
3. Able to plan nourishing & attractive menus within available budgets
4. The holder of a food hygiene certificate, with good personal hygiene standards
5. Polite & professional, with a positive attitude to internal & external guests at all times
6. An excellent communicator able to liaise with people at all levels
7. Able to work under your own initiative, as part of a team & under supervision

Successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
