Dovehaven Care Homes is recruiting for a Bank Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Ashton View Nursing Home, Wigan Road, Ashton-in-Makerfield, Wigan. Shifts will be 8am-6pm as & when cover is needed.

About Ashton View: It is a Nursing home catering for up to 58 residents, specializing in Dementia & Nursing care, promoting independence, dignity, and respect.

About the role:

As a Kitchen Assistant, under the supervision of the Head Chef, you will be responsible for food preparation, simple cooking, serving, and maintaining cleanliness. Your duties include:

  • Preparing and cooking meals, sandwiches, sweets, and snacks.
  • Preparing plates and food trays to a high standard.
  • Washing up and cleaning kitchen and dining areas.
  • Completing end-of-day cleaning duties.
  • Maintaining equipment and recording temperatures.
  • Stocking and accepting deliveries.
  • Using chemicals and equipment safely.
  • Adhering to health, safety, infection control, and emergency procedures.
  • Reporting any hazards, faults, or incidents.
  • Supporting safeguarding and promoting the home's reputation.
  • Performing any other reasonable tasks.
Other Requirements:
  • Participation in meetings and mandatory training.
  • Maintaining professional knowledge.

Schedule:
  • Day shifts, Monday to Friday, with weekend availability.
