Overview

University Hospitals Dorset is currently looking to onboard Bank Healthcare Support Workers (HCSW) with a willingness to upskill or have experience in supporting some of our patients with complex needs (Enhanced Care Skills) across our sites in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.

  • Minimum of 6 months experience working as a Healthcare Support Worker in an acute hospital environment or 1 year Nursing/Care Home experience

Duties

Successful candidates will work as an effective member of the team under the supervision of a registered health care professional, providing dignified, compassionate and safe care for patients. Duties include Enhanced Therapeutic Observation Care such as baywatching a cohort of patients, 1:1 arm’s length, falls risks, dementia, mental health support, and may involve working with children and young people up to older people.

Induction & Training

Mandatory Induction Programme: two full consecutive weeks (Monday‑Friday) plus up to two additional days of enhanced Care Training.

Interview

Interview subject to successful completion of numeracy & literacy. Interview date: 12th January 2026 All Day.
