Calling experienced Healthcare Assistants with experience of working on inpatient units with people suffering mental ill health. TEWV is developing a forward thinking nursing vision and robust defined career pathways. As a Healthcare Assistant you will be experienced in empathetic patient-centred care and want to make a difference in the lives of our patients.

Main duties of the job

Successful applicants will be responsible for supporting nursing staff in meeting the needs of services users, working alongside our established workforce delivering all aspects of care to promote choice and client independence. This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience working as and when required for a busy mental health and learning disability Trust. Bank workers are not regular employees and have no entitlement to guaranteed or continuous employment. Shifts are typically long days/nights weekdays and weekends.

About us

Springwood is a purpose built unit to the rear of Malton Hospital. Candidates must be able to work within this locality as and when required and at short notice where required. This vacancy is for bank shifts at Springwood in Malton only, please ensure you wish to work in this locality before applying.

Job responsibilities

Successful applicants will be required to complete a mandatory training programme within the first 8 weeks of commencement which will provide all new recruits with the necessary skills to work effectively and safely within our unique services. This is approximately 8 days of training for HCAs, this is not 8 consecutive days. It is therefore essential that applicants ensure that they can commit to this prior to applying.
