Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Health Care Assistant to support a GP practice in Driffield. The role focuses on assisting the clinical team with routine procedures, patient assessments and day-to-day treatment room activity.

Qualifications

• Experience as HCA in primary care or NHS.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Ability to perform routine clinical observations.
• Competent with digital clinical systems (EMR).
• Enhanced DBS clearance is expected.

You will be part of an organised primary care environment where you will help manage patient flow, assist with core clinical duties and contribute to high-quality care delivery. The practice offers strong support and clear guidance to ensure every session runs smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation
• Supporting with treatment room procedures
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained)
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required

Requirements

• Prior HCA experience in primary care or the NHS
• Phlebotomy experience desirable
• Comfortable carrying out clinical observations
• Good communication and patient interaction skills
• Basic IT competence for clinical system documentation
• Enhanced DBS
