We are currently seeking a Bank Healthcare Assistant(HCA) with proven phlebotomy experience to join our clinical team onan as-needed basis.

About the Role:As a Bank HCA, you will support our nursing and clinical team in delivering arange of services to patients. This flexible role is ideal for an experiencedHCA looking to pick up shifts around other commitments.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities:

  • Blood pressure monitoring
  • ECGs
  • Wound care and dressings (if trained)
  • Support with chronic disease management clinics
  • Accurate data entry and documentation
  • Maintaining clinical stock levels and assisting with infection control

What Were Looking For:

  • Minimum 1 year experience working as an HCA, ideally in a GP or community setting
  • Recent and proven phlebotomy experience (essential)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A team player with a flexible, can-do attitude
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Relevant HCA qualifications (e.g. Care Certificate or NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care)

Job responsibilities

Working under thedirect supervision of the senior practice nurse and strictly in accordance withspecific practice guidelines and protocols, the healthcare assistant willassist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patientcare.

Qualifications
  • Qualified in Phlebotomy
Experience
  • Qualified in Phlebotomy
  • Experience in undertaking ECGs, blood pressure, urinalysis/samples
  • Good general education to GCSE standard or equivalent
  • Experience within a health care setting
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good organisational and teamworking skills
  • Effective time management
  • Ability to work independently
  • Understanding, acceptance and adherence to the need for strict confidentiality
  • Able to work under pressure and keep calm
  • Be Flexible and adaptable
  • Full Driving Licence
