Support Worker

Pay rate: £14.50 per hour

Shift Pattern: Bank position. 8am-8pm Days & 8pm-8am Nights

We have a rewarding opportunity for a compassionate and dedicated personal Support Worker to assist an individual living with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) in Plymouth. This role focuses on providing support in daily life, helping maintain independence, and enabling the individual to care for their children and engage in family activities.

The support includes outings such as soft play, parks, and cinema visits. To facilitate trips, candidates should be local to Plymouth, know the area well, and be able to drive a mobility vehicle (days only) with a full UK Driving Licence.

Enriching activities are a key part of the support, and an empathetic approach is essential to make a positive difference. Prior experience in the following areas is preferred:

• Complex Care, ideally MND, tracheostomy management, ventilation, and PEG
• Assisting with communication via eye-gaze computer systems
• Patience and understanding of MND's effects on communication and mobility

This role offers a meaningful opportunity to support a person who values family highly, especially their children. The primary focus is to help maintain a stable family environment and support active fatherhood.

What will your shift involve?

You will provide high-quality care on a 2:1 basis, ensuring compassionate and tailored support.
