Job summary

Spire Nottingham Hospital is seeking an experienced Bank Engineer/Electrician to join our team on an ad-hoc basis. The role supports the hospital during peak periods, annual leave, and staff absence, ensuring a safe and compliant environment for patients and colleagues.

You will carry out maintenance across plant and building services, with a focus on HTM guidelines, PPM schedules, and timely fault resolution. Access to your own transport is essential due to limited public transport links.

Bank Engineer / Electrician | Spire Nottingham | Tollerton | Ad-Hoc Shifts | Weekly Pay

Spire Nottingham Hospital is seeking an experienced Engineer / Electrician to join our Bank team. This flexible role supports the hospital during peak periods, annual leave, and staff absence, helping to maintain a safe, compliant, and efficient environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Please note that access to your own transport is essential due to limited public transport links.

Duties and responsibilities:
  • Deliver a comprehensive engineering and maintenance service across the hospital site
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), testing, calibration, and fault finding
  • Diagnose and repair faults across plant, equipment, and building systems
  • Support installation works and ensure all systems operate safely and efficiently
Key Areas of Responsibility:
  • Electrical and general building maintenance
  • Water systems
  • Ventilation systems
  • Decontamination equipment
  • Medical gas systems
  • General engineering duties
The Role

You will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting a wide range of plant and equipment, ensuring compliance with HTM guidelines, PPM schedules, and manufacturer instructions at all times.

Who we're looking for:
  • Completed a recognised apprenticeship in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • City & Guilds (or equivalent) qualification in a relevant discipline
  • Proven experience in building services within a similar environment
  • Strong working knowledge of plant and building systems
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and respond to changing demands
  • Up-to-date understanding of compliance and relevant legislation (or willingness to learn)
