Job description

We are seeking experienced and autonomous Emergency Nurse Practitioners (ENPs) or Emergency Practitioners (EPs) to join our Bank team within our Minor Injury Units. This is a flexible opportunity to work shifts that suit your lifestyle while delivering high-quality, patient-centred care in a fast-paced community setting.

As a Bank ENP you will independently assess, diagnose, and manage a wide range of undifferentiated injuries and illnesses. You will be responsible for the full episode of care, including clinical assessment, requesting and interpreting diagnostics, prescribing, and performing procedures under local anaesthesia.

You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, support nursing colleagues. This role requires advanced clinical reasoning, decision-making skills, and a commitment to evidence-based practice.

Key Responsibilities:

Autonomous assessment and management of patients presenting with minor injuries and acute illness

Independent prescribing and advanced clinical procedures

Supporting and guiding nursing staff within the MIU

Acting as a role model and expert resource in emergency care

What We're Looking For:

Registered Nurse or Allied Health Professional with relevant qualifications

Advanced clinical skills and experience in urgent/emergency care

Ability to work independently and make complex clinical decisions

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Commitment to high standards of patient care and safety

Main duties of the job

Provide autonomous assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and discharge of patients presenting with minor injuries and acute illnesses within the Minor Injury Units (MIUs).

Act as a role model and expert resource in emergency care, promoting best practice and high standards of patient care.

Perform advanced clinical procedures, prescribe independently, and manage complex patient presentations using evidence-based practice.

Communicate effectively with patients, families, carers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless, patient-focused care.

Respond appropriately to emergency situations, including resuscitation and major incidents, ensuring safety and coordination of care.

Job responsibilities
  • Provide autonomous assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and discharge of patients presenting with minor injuries and acute illnesses within the Minor Injury Units (MIUs).
  • Support the Service Manager, Nurse Consultant, and Clinical and Managerial Leads in the day-to-day running of the MIUs, working collaboratively with both registered and unregistered staff.
  • Act as a role model and expert resource in emergency care, promoting best practice and high standards of patient care.
