Job summary

Elysium Healthcare Limited is seeking a Bank Driver at Ballington Gardens, Leek, Staffordshire to transport patients and staff. The role offers flexible shifts with no minimum hours and a paid two-week induction.

You will join the maintenance team, driving safely, planning routes, and supporting a multidisciplinary staff group in a 13-bed mental health rehabilitation setting. The position includes benefits such as free meals on duty, free parking, and access to training and wellbeing support

Responsibilities

• Drive patients and staff within Leek or other parts of England/Wales, ensuring safe and timely journeys via efficient routes.
• Plan journeys in advance to transport staff and visitors.
• Ensure hospital vehicles are cleaned, maintained, and faults addressed promptly.
• Keep vehicles fueled and records up to date and available on request.
• Be prepared for short notice emergency journeys after checking with you.

There is no minimum number of hours you’re required to work, though it is recommended to work as often as you can to ensure your induction knowledge and familiarity with the service is retained.

As a Bank Driver you will be:

• Driving patients and staff within Leek or other parts of England/Wales
  ensuring that the journey is completed in a safe and timely manner, using the most efficient route.
• Driving staff and other visitors to/from by planning the journey in advance.
• Ensuring that the Hospital vehicles are cleaned regularly, maintained correctly and safely and that any damage or faults are dealt with immediately.
• Ensuring that vehicles are always fuelled and record-keeping is kept up to date and available when requested
• you will be spontaneous as you will be required to do some short notice emergency journey, but we would check with you first to see if you could do the journey.

You will be working at Ballington House, a 13 bedded Mental Health rehabilitation hospital that provides services for women with complex Mental Health needs.

The environment at Ballington House offers a pathway from admission to discharge which incorporates three phases: the assessment phase (accepting help), the rehabilitation phase (believing, trying and learning) and the community phase‑out (self‑reliance).

The patients journey generally begins on the ground floor and as they move through each phase of their pathway they proceed to the second floor and then the two bedroomed apartment on the second floor.

You will work alongside an experienced multi-disciplinary team consisting of a consultant psychiatrist, clinical psychologist and assistants, an occupational therapist and assistants, nurses, and support workers.
