Job description
Overview

We are looking for an experienced diabetes dietitian to provide maternity cover for 12 months to support our diabetes team in Luton. The role is delivered on a hybrid working basis, with the office base in Luton.

Responsibilities
  • Provide nutrition assessment, advice and monitoring for a caseload of people with Type 2 diabetes, including those at risk of malnutrition.
  • Manage an independent clinical caseload in community settings, including remote/virtual reviews, community clinics, nursing homes and patients’ own homes.
  • Develop and deliver diabetes group education programmes, including DESMOND where trained.
  • Adapt communication and clinical skills to support diverse populations and manage complex clinical, emotional and social problems.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and monitor waiting times to ensure timely care.
  • Contribute to audit, quality improvement and evidence‑based practice within the Nutrition and Dietetic service.
Qualifications
  • Registered dietitian (HCPC) with experience in Type 2 diabetes care.
  • Evidence of community practice and ability to work independently.
  • Experience delivering group education and, where trained, DESMOND.
  • Strong communication, motivation and cognitive behavioural therapy skills.
  • Commitment to continuing professional development and CPD.
