Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic Bank Healthcare Assistant to join our talented team at the Ironstone Centre, Scunthorpe.

As a Bank Healthcare Assistant, you will provide support to nursing and medical staff by assisting in minor surgery and delivering other dermatological services to patients undergoing treatment. You will join a dedicated multidisciplinary team that provides innovative community-based healthcare for Dermatology patients.

This is an exciting post offering the opportunity to cover a wide range of duties and skills, which will be taught through practical hands-on learning with full training provided. You can also work towards your Care Certificate with us!

You will be based at our Ironstone Centre, Scunthorpe clinic, employed on a Bank basis to suit your schedule. There may be occasional requirements to support services at Cromwell Road Primary Care Centre and Freshney Green Medical Centre.

Main duties of the job

As a Bank Healthcare Assistant, your duties will include:

  • Assisting with minor skin surgery
  • Undertaking training to develop skills for Scub Assistant duties for enhanced procedures (with Plastic Surgeon and Maxillo-Facial Surgeon)
  • Carrying out phototherapy treatments under supervision
  • Carrying out PUVA/Iontophoresis treatments under supervision
  • Recording room and fridge temperatures and cleanliness daily
  • Ordering and monitoring stock, unpacking, and restocking rooms/theatres at the end of the day
  • Undertaking monthly facilities audits
  • Maintaining accurate medicine stock and records of use (Medicine Management)
