Priory Adult Care is the UK’s leading independent provider of specialist adult care services. Our aim is to provide the right support in the right home for all the individuals we accommodate.

We operate community-based residential care settings and a network of supported living services, supporting adults over 18 with autism, dementia, learning disabilities, mental health conditions, Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS), and behaviors that challenge. We also offer residential and nursing care settings for older people with varying needs.

Job Location Description

Newhouse is situated in the semi-rural village of Hurlford, near Kilmarnock, Scotland. Our home supports 22 adults with primary learning disabilities, who may also have physical health needs or be on the autism spectrum.

Our dedicated team provides the right level of support to promote independence among residents.

Role Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and serve high-quality food and hospitality to residents, meeting dietary requirements.
  • Assist the Home Manager with menu creation, ensuring nutritious and varied options.
  • Ensure all food preparation complies with COSHH, food safety, and health & safety regulations.
  • Manage food budgets and stock, check deliveries, and store supplies appropriately.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen.
  • Oversee kitchen staff management, including training, recruitment, and rotas.

We seek a confident individual with relevant experience in a similar-sized kitchen and qualifications in food hygiene, preparation, and cooking. This role offers good progression opportunities. The successful candidate should be proactive, passionate about food and service, and able to think on their feet.
