A healthcare organization in Northumbria is offering a Bank Consultant Oral Surgeon role. The successful candidate will provide essential oral surgery services across multiple sites, including outpatient and anaesthetic sessions, while participating in MDT meetings. A Bank Consultant Oral Surgeon opportunity at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. This is a fixed-term contract based in Northumbria Healthcare to work across sites in Northumbria, North Tyneside, for a 12-month period. The successful candidate will work with other Oral Surgeons in Northumbria Healthcare and Newcastle Hospitals, with opportunities to develop skills alongside colleagues in other specialties where appropriate. The post holder should be able to work flexibly to address service priorities, balancing time between two trusts and maintaining flexibility to support RTT performance targets, with the benefit of a largely predictable schedule. The post-holder will contribute to senior cover at the Dental Hospital in Newcastle upon Tyne and participate in MDT meetings and training.
The post-holder will be employed by Northumbria Healthcare and may work across all sites, including Wansbeck Hospital, North Tyneside Hospital, Hexham General Hospital (in a unit shared with Community Dental colleagues), and may be required to work on other sites within the Community Dental Estate.
The job plan comprises outpatient and anaesthetic sessions, MDT involvement, training and service development, aligned with the priorities of the service and RTT targets.
We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus several smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick upon Tweed, in addition to the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital. The organisation focuses on high-quality patient care and a strong patient experience programme.
