Crossroads Care Surrey is a leading charity with over 30 years of experience in supporting carers and their loved ones across the region. We are currently recruiting Bank Complex Child Support Workers to join our team, delivering compassionate, specialist care to children with complex health needs and behavioural challenges.

About the Role

As a Bank Complex Child Support Worker, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care to children with a variety of complex needsincluding autism, ADHD, physical and sensory impairments, and learning disabilities. This is a flexible, bank position offering the opportunity to work shifts that suit your lifestyle, including evenings, weekends, and school holidays.

You’ll work closely with families, health professionals, and schools to create a nurturing and safe environment, while supporting the child’s health, development, and emotional wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver direct care aligned with each child’s personalised care plan.
Assist with personal care, medication, feeding, and mobility needs.
Support behaviours of concern using Positive Behaviour Support techniques.
Facilitate meaningful home-based activities and community engagement.
Work collaboratively with families and professionals to ensure continuity of care.
Maintain accurate records and communicate any concerns effectively.
Support clinical needs including epilepsy, anaphylaxis, suctioning, and PEG feeding (training provided).
Respond to emergencies in a calm, professional manner.

What We’re Looking For

Previous experience supporting children with complex needs.
Relevant health and social care qualifications (or willingness to work towards the Care Certificate).
Excellent communication skills and IT literacy.
Compassion, resilience, and the ability to work independently.
Willingness to travel within Surrey.
Enhanced DBS check (we will arrange this).

NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care.
Experience with Positive Behaviour Support (PBS).
Clinical skills (PEG feeding, EpiPen, epilepsy rescue medication).
A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (business insurance desirable).
