This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Chemotherapy Nurse to join our 7 bedded unit on a bank contract. You will follow the entire patient journey from diagnosis through treatment, working very closely with our Oncologists. The department benefits from a Macmillan quality environment mark demonstrating how well we adapt to meet the needs of cancer patients as well as an exemplar award from our head office recognising the outstanding service provided to our patients.

Spire Harpenden Hospital offers comprehensive private hospital services in a comfortable and relaxed environment to patients from London and its northern counties - Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire. We have 5 state of the art Theatres and modern Surgical and Day Care Wards covering all major surgery, orthopaedics, gynaecology, plastics and medical patients amongst others.

Duties and responsibilities

  • The provision of exemplary planned care for patients and assisting in the management and organisation of care provision in a range of hospital settings.
  • To work in tandem with the Consultants in an oncology and haematology setting.
  • To chaperone and assist Consultants during patient examinations and any minor surgical procedures.
  • You will be joining a well-established team, who have a strong working environment and will have access to numerous training opportunities that will enable you to further develop your potential.
  • To administer cytotoxic treatment and supportive treatments to patients within the cancer pathway.

Who we're looking for

  • NMC registered - your pin should not have any restrictions or conditions
  • Must have Phlebotomy/venepuncture and cannulation experience
  • Have a certified chemotherapy course qualification
  • Excellent communication skills, along with being organised and can showcase excellent patient care.
