Shinewater Court is located in Eastbourne and offers accommodation and support to adults with a range of disabilities including cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, spina bifida, and disabilities resulting from accidents or stroke. We are a passionate and committed team, delivering a high standard of care and rehabilitation. Our Support Workers and wider Team thrive on working together to enable our service users to be as independent as possible and achieve their rehabilitation goals. We will train you to provide personalised support to our adult residents. You will follow individual support plans to meet the needs and aspirations of each person. The focus is developing independent living skills: personal hygiene, meal preparation, exercise, leisure activities, socialising – the daily routine of regular life. The Role:

As a Chef, you are responsible for:

  1. Ensuring a high level of service for all meal times.
  2. Reporting any defects to equipment to the Service Manager.
  3. Supervising the catering functions within the Service, preparing home-cooked meals for our residents, including catering for blended diets, in accordance with staff instructions.
  4. Adhering to all statutory requirements and good practices as laid out by all authorities involved.
  5. Observing and operating standards of cleanliness and hygiene that meet legislation related to the registration of the Service.
  6. Communicating with residents to ensure their dietary needs are met.
  7. Supporting and promoting decisions and initiatives by the Manager.
  8. Carrying out any reasonable duties requested by senior staff to aid the smooth running of the Service.
  9. Auditing compliance of standards within the kitchen, maintaining health and hygiene standards as the Chef.
