Location St Gemma's Hospice , Moortown , Leeds , LS17 6QD

This is a Temporary , Part Time vacancy that will close in 2 months at 23:59 BST .

The vacancy

St Gemma’s Hospice is seeking a Chef to work within our Estates & Facilities Team. You will support our Senior Chef to help lead the catering team in our busy kitchen which holds the Five Star Standard certificate.

You will need to be organised, possess a broad range of culinary skills and be dedicated to providing the highest standard of cuisine for our patients, staff and visitors and our expanding function business.

Qualified to 706/2 or equivalent, an Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate is essential for the role.

On average, the latest finish time for the post is 7.00pm. Flexibility is required if there are any functions on an evening or events at the weekend. Weekend enhancements will apply.

The main responsibilities of the role are:

  • Preparing and cooking food for our patients, staff and visitors
  • Assist the Senior Chef with menu planning, ensuring the food is well presented, healthy, and nutritional.
  • To ensure all dietary needs of patients, staff and visitors are met.
  • Assist the Senior Chef to review relevant food safety policies, regulations, and legislation.
  • To follow the procedure in the scheduled cleaning of the kitchen environment. Work as a team to complete cleaning tasks when the kitchen is short-staffed or the kitchen is particularly busy.
