Job summary

Advinia Healthcare is hiring a Bank Chef for Burrswood Care Home. You will join a calm kitchen team, preparing meals for Residents, Staff and Visitors, while managing workload and maintaining high service standards. The role offers flexible shift pattern and opportunities to progress into permanent roles within the group.

You will work with the multidisciplinary team to deliver quality food service, while keeping records and ensuring safety and hygiene across all kitchen operations.

Qualifications

• 18 years or older.
• GCSE English or equivalent.
• City & Guilds 706/1 and 2 Basic Food Preparation Cooking.
• Basic Food Hygiene certificate.
• Experience producing quality food to a high standard.
• Knowledge of menu planning and costing.
• Experience delivering meals to residents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining good food storage procedures and stock rotation.
• Preparing and cooking meals to a high standard with dietary needs.
• Serving residents, staff and visitors in a professional manner.
• Preparing foods for conferences and banquets.
• Participating in food costings and cost control.
• Adhering to Safer Food Better Business standards and records.
• Adhering to Food Hygiene Regulations and safety procedures.
• Taking full shift responsibility for catering operations.
• Completing HACCP paperwork including temps and logs.

As a Bank Chef you will be:

• Maintaining good food storage procedures and stock rotation according to established procedures.
• Preparing, planning and cooking meals to a consistently high standard, taking account of any special requests or dietary requirements within the home.
• Serving Residents, Staff and Visitors with food and beverage in a professional and courteous manner.
• Preparing and producing foods for conferences and banquets.
• Participating in food costings through effective cost control procedures.
• Adhering to the ‘Safer Food Better Business’ standards and record keeping.
• Adhering to Food Hygiene Regulations and other safety procedures at all times.
• Taking full shift responsibility for the catering operation.
• Correctly filling of all paperwork in relation to the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point system (HACCP) i.e. Fridge temperatures, food temperature logs and cleaning schedules

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• To be 18 years or older
• GCSE or equivalent English
• City & Guilds 706/1 and 2 (or equivalent) Basic Food Preparation Cooking
• Basic Food Hygiene
• Experience preparing and producing quality food to a high standard
• Knowledge of menu planning and costing
• Previous experience in delivery service

You will work alongside the multidisciplinary service to promote great food service.
