Location: Meldreth, Nr. Royston, Cambridgeshire/Hertfordshire border

Salary: £. - £. ph - (linked to competency and experience) + .5% holiday pay

What is a Bank Housekeeping Assistant?

Our bank staff are able to choose what shift they want to take on, giving them a great deal of flexibility when deciding to work days over nights, or weekdays over weekends.

Aurora Meldreth Manor/Orchard Manor

Situated in the village of Meldreth, just ten miles south of Cambridge, on the Cambridgeshire/Hertfordshire border, Meldreth Manor and Orchard Manor provide education, care and therapeutic support for children and young people who have severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties resulting in complex learning needs.

Set within acres, our site provides extensive space for learning, developing and living in an environment where we have a range of incredible facilities that include:

  4. Hard and soft outdoor space
  5. Forestry School
  6. Adapted Kitchens
  7. Enterprise Schemes
  8. Sensory Rooms

We are currently seeking individuals to join our housekeeping team across our services in Meldreth on a casual basis, to cover sickness, annual leave and staffing gaps.

Main duties include:

  1. Dusting and polishing
  2. Maintaining clean and sanitary kitchen areas
  3. Vacuuming and washing floors
  4. Tidying up rooms
  5. Monitoring cleaning supplies and ordering more as and when needed
  6. Reporting any necessary repairs
  7. Keeping bathrooms stocked and clean
  8. Emptying bins and disposing of waste

Please note that duties will vary and you must expect to lend a hand wherever is required.

Skills and Qualifications

  1. Experience of using equipment and materials in situations where care is needed to prevent harm to others
  2. Understanding of key aspects of Health and Safety legislation for cleaning
  3. Experience of cleaning a variety of surfaces.
  4. High standards, attention to detail, reliability and a positive work ethic.
  5. Experience and/or knowledge of disability and disability issues would be an advantage
  6. Positive and proactive demeanour
