Job Description:

Overview and Responsibilities

We are seeking a Bank/Casual Education Learning Support Practitioner for Aurora Foxes, a specialist college and training hotel for young people with learning disabilities. Located in Minehead, Somerset, Foxes aims to equip young adults with the skills needed for employment and independent living.

Main Purpose of the Role:

Assist students during sessions in residential houses, classrooms, and at Foxes Hotel, supporting their development towards employment and independence in the hospitality sector.

Flexibility:

Our bank staff can choose shifts that suit their availability, providing great flexibility.

Key Duties:

  1. Maintain high expectations and challenge students to reach their potential.
  2. Support students' learning and progress.
  3. Manage student behaviour professionally, seeking advice when needed.
  4. Assist in recording and evaluating student progress.
  5. Create resources to support learning.
  6. Respect student confidentiality and adhere to equality and diversity policies.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in a similar role is desirable; training can be provided.
  • Experience in hospitality, either Front of House or Food Preparation.
  • Experience in care or education sectors.
  • Understanding of working with individuals with disabilities (desirable).

  • (Desirable) Level 3 qualification in education.
