Sanctuary Supported Living is delighted to be recruiting for a Bank Care and Support Assistant at our CQC registered mental health and dementia care service at Montague Road in Felixstowe.

The role of Bank Care and Support Assistant will include:

  1. Delivering a high level of personalised care and support and encouraging our customers to live as independently as possible promoting active support for all
  2. Supporting customers with washing, dressing, bathing and hygiene
  3. Administering medication
  4. Assisting customers with shopping, cleaning and laundry tasks
  5. Helping customers to arrange and attend appointments i.e. with their GP
  6. Promoting a positive culture by engaging with customers to prevent social isolation
  7. Keeping accurate and up-to-date records
  8. Promoting safe practices and undertaking risk assessments
  9. Shifts will include lone working

Skills and experiences:

  1. A personalised approach to care, and ideally some experience with physical/learning disabilities or high needs
  2. Enthusiastic and flexible, with a strong “can-do” attitude
  3. Strong organisational skills, as well as functional literacy and numeracy
  4. Ability to react quickly to changing priorities whilst working to deadlines and targets
  5. NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards
  6. Good communication skills allowing you to build strong relationships with our customers
