Job description

Be responsible for the delivery and development of the Musculoskeletal Outpatient Physiotherapy Services within Central London Community Health Care Trust (CLCH).

KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

  • Regularly liaise with local GPs and other health professionals regarding patient care and health promotion. Provide comprehensive discharge and clinical reports promptly to referrers (such as GPs), patients, and other multidisciplinary team members.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families or carers through verbal, non-verbal, and written means to maximize rehabilitation potential. Use negotiation, motivation, explanation, reassurance, and work with interpreters when needed.
  • Show compassion, empathy, and sensitivity while providing appropriate care based on patient needs.
  • Collaborate with team members, including junior and senior staff.
  • Maintain professionalism and be legally responsible and accountable for your work, including patient management. Ensure high standards of clinical care and support peers in doing the same.
  • Provide an equitable service for all patients, including hard-to-reach groups.
  • Undertake comprehensive patient assessments using investigative and analytical skills. Recognize your professional limitations and seek support through supervision, peer discussion, or team case discussions.
  • Apply a variety of assessment and treatment techniques appropriate to the patient, following evidence-based practice, guidelines, and trust policies, including manual handling and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrate compassion, empathy, and sensitivity when caring for patients with acute, chronic, or complex conditions, including victims of torture and mental health patients.
  • Triages referrals to ensure patient suitability for the Musculoskeletal Outpatient Service according to triage guidelines.

Our shifts are paid hourly, weekly, and only for hours worked. Bank workers are paid based on the AFC pay bands.

Weekly pay includes: Basic pay, plus unsocial hours if applicable.

Excellently communicate with patients and colleagues using a range of verbal and non-verbal tools. Effectively convey complex condition-related information to patients and relatives to facilitate treatment, including working with advocates for non-English speakers.

Negotiate case management in complex cases and ensure collaborative working. Communicate professionally and accurately with GPs and other care providers via phone, email, letter, or in person, including sharing sensitive patient information.
