Our Adult Speech and Language Therapy Service is a supportive and friendly team who work across the community of Bromley providing a service to patients in their own homes, care homes, remotely and in outpatient clinics.

You will be joining our service at an exciting time as we have recently launched our FEES service. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to be involved in this service including referring into and assisting with assessments.

Bank working brings many advantages of being a permanent staff member but with added flexibility.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will have the opportunity to provide SLT input into our varied caseloads based on their skills, experience and interests.

You will need to have relevant experience in independently managing adults in at least one of the following caseloads:

  • Swallowing impairments
  • Triage

You will receive regular clinical supervision and support through team meetings and clinical forums as appropriate. Evidence of appropriate qualifications and membership is essential.

Qualifications
  • Recognised Speech & Language Therapy degree qualification or equivalent.
  • Health Professions Council Licence to practice.
  • Evidence of CPD and other relevant courses and qualifications.
Experience
  • Experience working clinically as an SLT. Evidence of independent caseload management.
  • Experience working as an SLT with adults who have neurological conditions.
  • Experience of supporting patients with AAC provision.
  • Experience of managing a voice caseload.
Skills
  • Able to demonstrate a high level of competence in the management of communication patients.
  • To be able to independently assess and manage patients with dysphagia.
  • Good auditory discrimination skills and ability to transcribe speech phonetically.
  • Full UK driver’s license / Car driver with access to a car for work purposes.
