Working hours:

Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Locum Prisons Services Clinical Discharge Pharmacist to join our team in London. This role is crucial in ensuring the safe and effective use of medicines within the prison service, contributing to public health campaigns, and providing leadership in medicines management. Responsibilities:
  1. Devise and implement SystmOne computer searches to identify high-risk patients regarding medicines and hospital admissions.
  2. Ensure compliance with CQC standards and contribute to public health campaigns.
  3. Manage medicines data to support decision-making and lead improvements in the discharge pathway.
  4. Provide education and training to healthcare teams.
  5. Implement changes from MHRA alerts and manage related clinical duties.
  6. Work with high-risk patients, promote healthy lifestyles, and conduct face-to-face clinics.
  7. Act as a responsible pharmacist in the dispensary, make clinical judgments, and communicate with external healthcare providers.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Registered Pharmacist with GPHC.
  • Experience in clinical pharmacy, preferably in a prison or secure environment.
  • Strong knowledge of SystmOne in medicines management.
  • Leadership skills and experience in education and training.
  • Ability to analyze complex medicines data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience managing MHRA alerts and product withdrawals.
  • Knowledge of NICE guidelines.
  • Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to public health and promoting healthy lifestyles.
