Job summary

iRock School of Music is seeking a dedicated Band Coach to lead high-energy sessions across primary schools in the UK. You will teach drums, keyboard, guitar and vocals, building strong relationships with pupils, parents and staff while preparing students for live performances.

This full-time role offers a structured timetable, travel between schools with mileage paid, and a clear progression from £27,000 to £31,000 per year. Start date: 5 January 2027, with generous holidays and benefits.

Qualifications

• Competent on at least two instruments (Drums, Guitar, Keys and Vocals).
• Friendly, upbeat and able to connect quickly with children and adults.
• Passionate about inspiring children through music.
• Organised and able to manage a varied weekly timetable.
• Reliable and dedicated to giving each child a great experience.
• Clear communicator who adapts to different environments.
• Comfortable with the physical aspects of moving equipment.
• Full UK driving licence and own vehicle (essential).

Responsibilities

• Lead high-energy band sessions for groups of primary-aged children across up to 10 schools weekly.
• Teach drums, keyboard, guitar and vocals with confidence in at least two.
• Build warm relationships with pupils, parents and school staff.
• Help children prepare for live performances.
• Carry out light daily admin (about 30 minutes).
• Support learners working towards entry-level music awards.
• Set up and pack away equipment daily.
