We are seeking a dedicated Senior Dental Officer with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to join our team and provide Special Care Dentistry services in a beautiful rural location in Ceredigion, West Wales.
You will provide a range of Dental services in accordance with approved Health board plans and policies. You will be required to assist with the training and development of community dentists, dentists with enhanced skills in special care dentistry and professions complimentary to dentistry.
The Hywel Dda Community Dental Service (CDS) is dedicated to providing dental care for vulnerable adults and children who may have difficulties in seeking and receiving dental treatment throughout the Ceredigion . Our clinics are different to high street dental practices in that we see patients on a referral basis only, which ensures that they receive their treatment from the most appropriately trained member of the team and in the best clinic to suit their needs. The Senior Dental Officer will be supported by the Clinical Lead and the Community Team.
Hywel Dda University Health Board plans and provides NHS healthcare services for people living in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and bordering counties.
We have over 13,000 staff and together we provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services.
We work in partnership the three local authorities, as well as public, private and third sector colleagues, including our valued team of volunteers.
Our services are provided in:
Four main hospitals: Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwyth; Glangwili Hospital in Carmarthen; Prince Philip Hospital in Llanelli; and Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest.
Five community hospitals: Amman Valley and Llandovery hospitals in Carmarthenshire; Tregaron Hospital in Ceredigion; and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire hospitals in Pembrokeshire.
Two integrated care centres: Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion, and several other community settings.
47 general practices (six of which are health board managed practices); dental practices (including four orthodontic); 97 community pharmacies; 43 general ophthalmic practices; and 8 ophthalmic domiciliary providers.
Numerous mental health and learning disabilities services.
The role will be based in North Road Clinic, Aberystwyth but there is currently a need to cover some clinics at Cardigan Integrated Care Centre as well.
