Job description

Are you ready to make a real difference in the lives of patients with varied Special Care/Paediatric Additional needs or disabilities? Join our passionate team at the Dorset Primary Care Dental Service and be part of something truly special.

Get in touch to arrange an informal visit to our Special Care Dentistry clinic, based at Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester, or our new, purpose built, 6 chair clinic in Poole at a date/time to suit your working hours. Meet some of the team, talk us through your experience to date and discuss what the next step in your community dentistry career could look like with us.

As one of our valued dental officers, you'll provide high quality dental care to our special cohort of patients. Our service is dedicated to helping medically compromised patients who need treatment in a specialised setting, as well as supporting anxious children. Plus, you'll have the chance to bring your expertise directly to patients in their homes, nursing, and care settings.

Main duties of the job

Based in one of our welcoming Dorset clinics, with potentially some travel to other locations around Dorset (for e.g. domiciliary settings), you'll enjoy working in a supportive and specialised environment. This is your chance to make a meaningful impact, grow professionally, and be part of a team that values your dedication and compassion.

Imagine delivering comprehensive oral health care to those who need it most, offering a full range of NHS oral health services, ensuring every patient receives the best care possible. Whether it's performing high-quality treatments under local anaesthesia, delivering care for those with more challenging behaviour, or, if skilled, administering sedation and general anaesthesia, your role will be crucial.

If you're committed to providing exceptional and compassionate dental care, we want to hear from you to explore what your career could look like with us. This is your chance to make a meaningful impact, grow professionally, and be part of a team that values your dedication and compassion.
