Job overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and conscientious Dentist to join the Community Paediatric Dentistry Team in Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Trust.

This is a Consultant lead specialist service providing high quality community based dentistry to anxious children and children with special needs, in multiple sites across Birmingham, Sandwell, Walsall and Dudley. The service also provides mobile dental services at selected schools. Dentists maybe required to drive these vehicles as part of service delivery; training would be provided, as required.

The successful candidate will also be required to provide inhalation sedation services; it will be a requirement of this post to complete the necessary qualification, if not already held, and appropriate support will be given to achieve this additional qualification.

This role is part time - 0.6 WTE (22.5 hours per week)

Main duties of the job

To provide high quality dental treatment for children with a wide range of high treatment needs including those who have special needs and are unable to access care in the General Dental Service

To carry out the full range of clinical procedures, including inhalation sedation.

The post holder will be required to move between community dental clinics and work in a mobile dental unit.
