We are looking for an exceptional Psychologist to join our new specialist acute inpatient service for people with learning disabilities and autistic people.
Alongside the senior leadership team, you will play a key role in establishing a culture of learning, continuous evaluation and compassion, with co-production at the heart of this.
Your role will include leading on aspects of implementation and delivery under the supervision of the Consultant Psychologist. This is anticipated to include, for example, developing and evaluating a trauma-informed, therapeutic culture, individual and group psychological treatment approaches, and training, interventions and support for the wider system.
You will provide leadership and supervision to other members of the psychological therapies team and wider service as appropriate, and take a lead role in service improvement, audit and research in line with, and contributing to, national guidance. There will also be an expectation to supervise trainee/student placements and research to facilitate the development of the evidence base.
The post holder will ensure and oversee the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based psychological assessment, formulation and intervention within the inpatient service. This will include the delivery of specialist individual, group and systemic intervention, as well as providing consultation, interventions and training for carers and staff.
They will provide supervision to other members of the psychological therapies service and wider team as appropriate.
They will also be expected to make significant contributions to service design, audit and research. The service has close working relationships with local Universities, including direct links with the local Doctoral Programme for Clinical Psychology.
Individualised support will be provided to develop your knowledge and skills including management and leadership skills, as part of the expanding expertise in learning disabilities and neurodiversity within AWP.
