An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and autonomous senior practitioner to join the Trust as the Lead Nurse for the Learning Disability & Autism Team. We are looking for a visionary and empathetic nurse with a deep understanding of the complexities and challenges faced by people with learning disabilities and autistic individuals in an acute hospital environment.
Applications are invited from Learning Disability Registered Nurses with current significant experience working with people with learning disabilities and extensive experience at Band 7 level or above in an acute healthcare setting.
The successful candidate will be responsible for enhancing the quality of care for individuals with learning disabilities and autism within the hospital setting, acting as a role model and clinical expert in learning disability and autism nursing across the Trust, and supporting clinical staff in care planning.
We seek someone with excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills, capable of engaging with professionals from diverse backgrounds. As a key member of our leadership team, you will influence the care and experience of patients with learning disabilities and autism within our Trust.
This role involves leading the development of high-quality nursing services tailored to the holistic needs of patients with Learning Disabilities and Autism. The post holder will provide professional and clinical leadership across all age groups within Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospital NHS Trust (BHRUT), overseeing the Trust's Learning Disabilities & Autism Team for both children and adults.
