This is an exciting secondment opportunity to be the Lead Nurse for HIV outpatients and day care at the Royal Free London. The post holder will provide clinical expertise, management and professional leadership to nursing staff at all levels within their area of responsibility, ensuring that nursing care is delivered to a high standard and that the nursing resource is managed effectively.
The post holder will be accountable for leading on all aspects of quality management related to nursing practice within HIV care. They will provide a visible presence with strong professional, clinical, and managerial leadership to develop nursing at a strategic and operational level.
The post holder will provide specialist knowledge, support, and advice on HIV to patients, carers, and across the HIV Service as a whole, whilst being an independent autonomous practitioner and independent prescriber.
The Lead Nurse will work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team and across different levels of the organisation with a high level of autonomy and self-motivation, to facilitate and support, inspire, design and lead projects.
The HIV service provided by the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust is recognised as an international Centre of Excellence for HIV care. It serves the inpatient and outpatient needs of over 3000 people living with HIV and has the largest cohort of women living with HIV in the country.
