Job summary

We are seeking applications from forward-thinking, well-motivated, enthusiastic individuals to take a lead role in developing and delivering the Biochemistry service across Barking, Havering, Redbridge University Hospital NHS Trust (King George, Queens Hospitals, and community hospital settings).

You will be responsible for delivering a patient-focused, governance-led, operationally planned, and policy-driven high-quality Biochemistry service aligned with national Biochemistry & Royal College of Pathologists strategies. You will support the design, assessment, implementation, and maintenance of Biochemistry services outside traditional laboratory settings, ensuring diagnostics are integrated into the patient pathway at the most appropriate and accessible points to facilitate care decisions.

The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication and time management skills and have a systematic, flexible approach to work. You will work as part of the team delivering Biochemistry testing services and lead the POCT team based at Queen's Hospital and King George Hospital, which includes HCPC-registered staff and Associate Practitioners. The department actively encourages participation in CPD to support your career development.
