Pulse is currently seeking a band 8a Clinical Psychologist who specialises in CAMHS Eating Disorders, to join our client’s well-established NHS trust within Rotherham.
This post is available to start as soon as possible, offering full-time hours per week for an initial 6-month period.
You will need to be skilled at working with young people (8-18 years) and adults (18-25 years) with eating disorders and complex co-morbid presentations e.g. ASC, complex trauma, EUPD, depression, OCD, and self-harm.
We can offer the opportunity for innovation and room to develop your areas of clinical interest in eating disorders and/or the associated co-morbidities. The full/part-time post will be appointed according to experience, and applications are welcomed from both established psychologists and those recently qualified, eager to develop expertise in this specialist field.
It is essential that all applicants have previous experience working within a CAMHS Eating Disorders setting. Applicants must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
The post involves supporting and developing psychological perspectives across the MDT, providing assessments and therapy to patients and their families.
Specialist psychological interventions (individual, family, and group) and therapeutic relationships are key in supporting vulnerable young people to overcome their eating disorder and prepare for life outside hospital.
You will be supervised by a consultant or senior clinical psychologist and work closely with the multidisciplinary team, other psychologists, assistant psychologists, and therapeutic support workers across the four Ellern Mede hospital sites.
The role offers links with local Doctoral Programmes in Clinical and Counselling Psychology, with opportunities for research and clinical trainee placements. Clinicians have a generous CPD budget, and external supervision can be arranged if needed.
