Job summary

We are looking to recruit two Practitioner Psychologists to lead and oversee psychological practice within the Mental Health Integrated Network Team (MINT) in North West Bristol and Inner City and East Bristol. As part of the Community Mental Health Framework, we are implementing a transformation programme to support individuals with mental health needs, providing accessible, personalized services through integrated teams involving Primary and Secondary care, Local Authorities, and Voluntary sector partners.

Main duties

  • Provide clinical leadership alongside the MINT team manager, guiding principles of the clinical framework, delivery of psychologically informed services, interventions, and quality assurance.
  • Use specialist psychological skills to offer formulation-based care, informing management of service users, families, and carers.

Deliver highly specialist psychological assessments and therapies, provide expert advice on client management to colleagues, supervise/line manage trainees and less experienced staff, and contribute to audit, research, policy, and training initiatives.

Job responsibilities

  • Lead a high-quality, autonomous psychological service aligned with best practices and national guidelines.
  • Hold clinical responsibility for the MINT service, including specialist assessments and formulation-based treatment planning.
  • Provide a range of psychological interventions, including at least one evidence-based intervention tailored to service needs.
  • Offer consultation and training to multidisciplinary teams, participate in supervision, maintain accurate records, and monitor clinical workloads.
  • Support the implementation of service initiatives like 'Your Team, Your Conversation, Your Plan' and act as a keyworker when appropriate.
  • Develop a lead role across BNSSG in areas such as Interventions, Evaluation, Supervision, Training, Service User Involvement, or External Networks.

Person Specification

Education and Qualifications

  • Doctoral qualification in Clinical/Counselling Psychology or equivalent.
  • Eligible for Chartered Psychologist status and HCPC registration.
  • Post-qualification specialist training in relevant interventions.

Experience and Knowledge

  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and training colleagues.
  • Supervision and consultation experience, evidence-based therapeutic interventions, risk assessment, and management skills.

Skills and Abilities

  • Effective teamworking, communication, reflective practice, empathy, independence, and resilience.

Additional Requirements

  • Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
  • Eligibility for UK professional registration.
