Overview

An excellent opportunity to hire one Lead Band 8a Diabetes Dietitian to offer expert assistance in enhancing care for patients with Type 1 diabetes. The role leads a dynamic team with development opportunities to enhance experience in diabetes within a multidisciplinary workforce.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, implement and monitor strategic delivery of a highly specialist, evidence-based clinically effective service in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Develop a new service pathway to improve patient safety on the wards, focusing on emergency departments across the Trust to reduce hypoglycaemic events.
  • Develop the Adult Diabetes Dietetic Clinical Lead role to Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP), including development of competencies and structure.
  • Work as an autonomous practitioner providing advanced Diabetes Dietetic assessment and management to a highly specialised clinical caseload with complex presentations, interpreting and analysing clinical and non-clinical data to form accurate diagnoses and prognoses.
  • Act as an advanced practitioner using assessment, diabetes technology, supplementary prescribing and advanced clinical reasoning to assist in the management of diabetes.
  • Work as a supplementary non-medical prescriber (adhering to Trust policy) with the ability to initiate and adjust medication within your field of expertise.
