A leading mental health service provider in Swindon is looking for a Band 8a Psychologist to enhance the Primary Care Complex Emotional Needs Service. The ideal candidate will lead a team in delivering high-quality psychotherapy and play a vital role in developing trauma-informed care, requiring HPCP and BABCP accreditation. The Primary Care Complex Emotional Needs Service is a brief psychological service aimed at improving the lives of people who may struggle with emotional and relational difficulties associated with a diagnosis of personality disorder.
With additional investment we are now expanding our service to individuals with Complex PTSD (cPTSD), bridging the gap between primary care and secondary mental health services.
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic psychologist to provide clinical leadership within our primary care complex emotional needs service covering the Swindon locality. Alongside the role with the primary care CEN service (3 days per week), we have also created a new role aligned with the Primary Care Liaison Service in Swindon (PCLS- 2 days per week) The post holder will provide assessment, formulation and brief psychological interventions for service users with a range of presenting difficulties. For this part of the role, you will work closely with colleagues within the Swindon Psychological Therapies Service.
In this pivotal role you will deliver high quality psychological therapy to clients while also leading, a team of therapists and MHWP's. You will ensure the delivery of evidence-based person-centred interventions whilst helping to shape and develop the service to meet the evolving needs of the primary care population.
As the PCLS psychologist, you will work closely with the other members of the MDT to ensure that service users receive a high quality assessment and intervention/ onward signposting. Swindon PCLS already includes a trainee Clinical Associate Psychologist (CAP) and have had a long term aspiration to widen and develop their psychological offer.
