Exciting Opportunity: Senior Cardiac Physiologist (Part-Time)

Are you an experienced Senior Cardiac Physiologist seeking a rewarding, flexible role? Join our Specialist Cardiac and Respiratory Service in a dynamic part-time position, where you'll make a significant impact in community healthcare.

We offer an exciting part-time opportunity for a Senior Cardiac Physiologist to join the Specialist Cardiac and Respiratory Service. You will cover various locations across north and west Wiltshire, collaborating with Consultant Cardiologists, Heart Failure Specialist Nurses, GPs, and other healthcare professionals to deliver patient care.

The role involves working in community-based rapid access diagnostic clinics and community heart failure services. The post holder will perform and report high-quality echocardiograms and other non-invasive cardiac investigations, providing specialised advice in echocardiography and related fields. Responsibilities also include training, service development, and clinical and peer audits.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Work as an autonomous practitioner within the Community Heart Failure Team, responsible for non-invasive cardiac investigations, primarily echocardiography, resting ECGs, and ambulatory monitoring.
  2. Operate across various community health centre settings, providing patient-centred care and maintaining high imaging standards.
  3. Perform domiciliary cardiac investigations, mainly echocardiography, for housebound patients.
  4. Provide clinical supervision, audit, and training for other cardiac physiologists.

Additional duties include:

  • Collaborating with team members to offer advice, training, mentoring, supervision, and assessment in non-invasive cardiac investigations.

The Ideal Candidate

  • B.Sc. in Clinical Science, Physiology, HTEC Medical Physics, or equivalent.
  • Extensive post-qualification experience in echocardiography and ECG.
  • Proficiency in echocardiography procedures, analysis, and reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of cardiac investigations and teaching experience.
  • Ability to work independently with attention to detail and produce comprehensive reports.

As a Cardiac Physiologist, you'll be part of our valued team in North and West Wiltshire.
