Job description
Overview

Total Assist Recruitment are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Specialist Speech & Language Therapist to join the dedicated team at Horsham. This is a rewarding full‑time, permanent position offering flexible working hours within a specialist neurorehabilitation environment. You will play a leading role in delivering expert speech and language therapy to adults with acquired brain injuries, working as part of a close‑knit, multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive assessments and interventions using a neurobehavioural approach to deliver high‑quality rehabilitation tailored to each individual’s needs.
  • Manage a complex caseload that includes individuals with cognitive, behavioural, communication and swallowing difficulties, many of whom present with challenging behaviour.
  • Complete in‑depth assessments, formulate and implement therapy plans, deliver dysphagia care and training, and work collaboratively with staff to embed communication strategies across the service.
  • Shape and develop the service, contributing to clinical audits, governance processes and staff training.
  • Apply professional judgement, clinical reasoning and communication skills to help individuals maximise their independence and quality of life following brain injury.
Qualifications
  • Qualified Speech and Language Therapist registered with the HCPC.
  • Post‑qualification experience working with adults with neurological conditions.
  • Dysphagia training (essential) and experience with the neurobehavioural model within a rehabilitation setting (highly desirable).
  • Strong report‑writing skills, commitment to evidence‑based practice and ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this post is between £49,630 and £56,530 per annum, depending on experience, and includes a location allowance. 38 days annual leave including bank holidays, and access to a range of excellent benefits including a health cash plan, life assurance, staff awards, a supportive pension scheme, free parking and flexible leave options.
