Are you an experienced Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist looking for a new opportunity? North London NHS Foundation Trust are seeking a talented Speech and Language Therapist to join a welcoming and highly regarded team for a temporary placement.

Job responsibilities

In this role you will:

  • Provide Physiotherapy and Speech and Language Therapy, as well as SLAs for Dietetics and Podiatry and work in collaboration with established teams.
  • Evaluate, modify, and implement interventions using highly developed clinical reasoning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to ensure safe, effective treatment plans that align with best-practice evidence, service users' needs, and family choice.
  • Utilise highly specialist knowledge and skills to provide assessment, diagnosis, and management to service users with physical health presentations.
  • Take responsibility for all aspects of speech and language therapy assessment, diagnosis, and management of service users with Mental Health conditions.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • You must possess a degree-level professional qualification in Speech and Language Therapy.
  • You will have taken part in high-level post-graduate courses in a related area of expertise.
  • You will be a Registered member of RCSLT and HCPC.
  • You must have demonstrable experience of working within multi-professional therapy teams, including with service users who have mental health presentations.
  • You must have extensive post-graduate experience of managing complex caseloads in acute settings.
  • You must be able to work across and travel between partnership sites as required.
  • You will have undertaken previous experience in managing people with dysphagia.
